The ride

Two words: re-laxed. We all met up on Flagstaff. A couple exciting arrivals were Steveo (freshly back from touching Ohio) and Ted (freshly back from oversleeping and missing touching Ohio).

Casey & the chopsticks of doom

Three words: off the hook. Oh yeah. It started with grilling, setting-up and DJ Blaise on the turntables. Susie, Heather & Josh were already there when I got back. They started adding up their points as the other riders trickled in. Things really kicked up when Rebecca made a bucker of mojitos and Jeff made about 400 mint juleps.

More talking

Once we were all good and drunk, we moved to the performance part of the evening. People recited poems, told jokes and juggled. I can’t remember exactly who all joked, poet-ed and juggled but they were all great. And lots of people can juggle.

Everyone then added up their scores. There was some confusion, so everyone was just awarded grand prize. Susie and Heather were also joint winners for “most aggresive” as I was worried their competition might end in blows.

Hey spokepunchers!

Then there was more eating and drinking. And a pinata.

Pinata breaks

Once it was dark, the Chicago contingent set off some of the fireworks they picked up in Ohio. Then Billie and Mel headed to Brillobox while the rest of us rode our bikes to the empty fountain by PNC Park.

Thanks to everyone who came for making it great. Ciao!
